Earlier, maybe a month ago, I posted the beginnings of a major project I created for myself. I had to make 72 Holiday ornaments to sell at the TIFF Shop. I successfully completed my tasks and over the next couple of weeks I’d like to share the finished products! Let’s start with some of my favourite pieces, the Matryoshka dolls:
Next up are the candy canes:
And finally for today, are the small medallions with tiny trees stitched onto them:
I really enjoyed making these. Make sure to visit us again as I’ll be posting more photos of my handmade holiday ornaments!
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a post for Fabric Friday so I have a great print for you to make up for it!
This fabric is from Sis Boom by Jennifer Paganelli. It is from the beautifully designed and intricate West Indies line. The print I chose is called Velentina a vibrant floral with a bright yellow background to bring some life into the dark rainy days before us.
I love the vintage feeling it has. I would love to see this as a skirt in the spring! It would also look great in a quilt with other prints from the West Indies line.
I also came across this picture of matryoshka dolls made from other Jennifer Paganelli prints. They’re so cute! Gives me some ideas…

What would you make with this fabric? Let us know in the comments!
Now, what to make? Bought two of these little guys this past weekend at Michael’s! I love the colour and they were on sale. Not sure what this yarn is destined for just yet. Wanted to try making some kind … Continue reading →
Emily here, and yes, it’s that time of the week again… Fabric Friday! This week I have chosen a laminated fabric by Joel Dewberry.
This print is from Dewberry’s Heirloom collection from the selection of fabrics in the Sapphire group.
When I first encountered laminated fabric it was a drab white and red plaid often used for picnic tables. Once I came across wonderful designs like this though, I started thinking of what I could use them for. I thought this would make a great shopping tote. The deep amethyst color in this print allows it to be worn in the fall and the floral print is great for spring! It would also be great as a seat cover for an outdoor chair.
