Emily here with a project I’ve been working on for the past week. I’m going to call it my “Fall into Winter” cowl. It’s a very basic pattern that I created so I didn’t have to keep track of stitches and just relax with my knitting.
A couple of months ago I went to my local yarn shop and picked up three balls of Jo Sharp’s alpaca kid lustre. This yarn is a beautiful blend of alpaca, mohair, and merino wool.
Here’s the pattern:
Size 8 US (5mm) 16″ circular needles. If you want a bigger circumference, go ahead and use a longer pair of needles!
Jo Sharp’s Alpaca Kid Lustre (30% Superfine Alpaca/40% Kid Mohair/30% Merino) 1 ball Pine (#856), 1 ball Elderberry (#857), and 1 ball Champagne (#858)
Or any other DK weight yarn of your choosing.
YO= Yarn Over
K2tog= Knit Two Together
With A cast on stitches in multiples of 2. If you want it closer fitting, c/o less, if you want it looser, c/o more!
Join in round and add stitch marker.
Round 1: Knit
Round 2: Purl
Round 3: Knit
Rounds 4 & 7: K2tog, yo, repeat to marker
Rounds 5-6: Knit
Rounds 8-12: Knit
Repeat rounds 4-12 until desired length.
To finish, knit one round, purl one round, knit one round, and then bind off.
This is what I have so far:
I hope you try it yourself and enjoy it! Completed photos will be up in a week or so.
