Completed: Chunky Beret

Hi Everyone!

When we started this blog I had begun a project to make a beret. The hat is complete and I love it! I ended up restarting the project in another yarn, but here is a photo of the finished product.

You can see the original post here.

I hope you enjoy!

WIP: Chunky Beret

Hello!

I recently started my first hat knitting in the round. It took me a while to get the hang of round needles, but now that I have I am hooked!

I chose Paton’s Shetland Chunky yarn because it was an affordable yarn for my first hat trial.  The dark green is a nice, rich, fall colour. I have always wanted a dark green slouchy hat, but have never seen one in stores.

I wanted to try an easy hat pattern and found a great simple beret pattern on Ravelry. This pattern is pretty basic and fast! I didn’t have the same size needles as the pattern uses, so my beret has a tighter knit than shown.

The Needles:

Size 8 US (5mm) 16″ circular needles. If you want a chunkier knit use the needles recommended in the patter!

The Yarn:

Patons Shetland Chunky (75% Acrylic/25% Wool) Sage Green (#78242)

Here is my progress so far.

Happy Knitting!
